TMZ Tracks Down Lester Holt to Ask Him About Replacing Brian Williams

When TMZ starts crawling all over a journalism scandal, it’s a sure sign that the story is either 1) spiraling out of control into a pit of noxious intrigue, 2) totally, totally bonkers, or 3) journalism ate itself out of hunger.

At least one of those options when TMZ’s photographers decided to run after Brian Williams‘s replacement, Lester Holt, outside of Rockefeller Plaza. “What happens if Brian comes back?” they asked, referring to the anchor’s suspension after it was discovered he’d repeatedly falsified an incident in 2003 where he claimed to be hit by an RPG. “Are you going to duke it out?”

Holt cackled at their silly line of questioning, told them “Great question,” and his chauffeured car screeched into the night.
