Truly Bizarre Moment When Michael Jackson’s Doctor Serenades Anderson Cooper From Jail
Last night on CNN, Michael Jackson‘s former personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray serenaded Anderson Cooper from jail while on the phone.
The doctor is currently serving a five-year sentence for manslaughter charges in Jackson’s 2009 death. He phoned into Anderson Cooper 360 for what turned out to be a multiple segments-long grilling over the circumstances of the King of Pop’s mysterious death.
We won’t bore you with the details of their long back-and-forth, but there was one incredibly uncomfortable moment where Murray decided it would be wise to serenade Cooper as an explanation of “who he is” and why his heart tells him to help people so much.
“You know what describes me? Let me sing something for you,” Murray told the host before launching into his version of Nat King Cole‘s “The Little Boy that Santa Claus Forgot.”
Cooper remained silent as Murray sang, “In the street, he envies all those lucky boys / But goodness knows he didn’t want a lot / I’m so sorry for that laddy who hasn’t got a daddy / The little boy that Santa Claus forgot.”
Only on occasion did Cooper look around in bewilderment, as if to ask, “What is going on here?”
