Ukrainian MP Fires Back at Lindsey Graham for Calling on Zelensky to Resign: ‘With All Due Respect…’

A Ukrainian lawmaker had words for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who called on President Volodymyr Zelensky to resign.

Zelensky was at the White House on Friday, where he had a wild meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office. The three world leaders spoke in front of reporters in what had been a mostly cordial gathering. However, it devolved when Zelensky asked Vance how Russian President Vladimir Putin could be trusted to adhere to diplomatic agreements. Trump has said he is trying to bring an end to the three-year-long war on Ukraine after Russia invaded in 2022.

“Mr. President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media,” Vance told Zelensky. Trump added, “You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people.”

After the blowup, Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly told the Ukrainian president to leave the White House without signing a diplomatic agreement with Trump involving Ukraine’s minerals. Meanwhile, Graham called on Zelensky to “resign” or “change” his tune.

“What I saw in the Oval office was disrespectful and I don’t know if we can ever do business with Zelensky again,” he said.

Shortly after, MP Kira Rudik appeared on CNN and was asked about the senator’s comments.

“Kira, what is your reaction to hearing Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and even others within the administration saying that Zelensky would have to fundamentally change his point of view or potentially step down?” Boris Sanchez asked.

“With all due respect, in Ukraine, we elect our own presidents and we are known to start revolutions if we think that they are not acting at our best interest,” she answered. “So, it’s not up to Russian president or American president or American officials to tell the Ukrainian people who should be our president.”
