Undecided Conservative Voter at Univision Town Hall Says He’s Not Voting for Trump After He Called Jan. 6 a ‘Day of Love’

Univision
A formerly registered Republican who wanted Donald Trump to win him back over at Univision’s recent town hall said Trump did not succeed in doing so.
Earlier in the week, Trump fielded a variety of questions from voters during the event. One man, identified as 56-year-old Ramiro Gonzalez, expressed disappointment over Trump’s “inaction” as the rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Gonzalez, a construction worker from New Jersey who now lives in Florida, also revealed that he used to be a registered Republican.
In his response, Trump claimed Jan. 6 was a “day of love,” eliciting a puzzled expression from Gonzalez. Trump stunned other members of the audience when he said Ashli Babbitt was the only person killed that day.
After the town hall, Gonzalez was asked to share his thoughts on the former president’s comments. Although he was hoping Trump would convince him to win back his vote, he explained how Trump instead left him disappointed.
When asked if he got the response he was looking for, he simply said, “No.” Then, the interviewer noted how he came into the event as an undecided voter. After being asked if that changed, he revealed he wasn’t going to vote for Trump.
