WATCH: Actual Footage on Which HBO Series Show Me a Hero Is Based

The HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero wrapped its six-episode run on Sunday, but you can watch actual footage of the confrontational Yonkers City Council meeting which it’s based on here.

Written by David Simon and William F. Zorzi, the creators of The Wire, Show Me a Hero stars Oscar Isaac as Nick Wasicsko, a former police officer turned Yonkers City Council member who eventually became the youngest mayor of a “big city” in the country. The story details a court battle between the city and federal judge over orders to desegregate the city by developing public housing within the confines of an otherwise affluent community.
