WATCH: Crowd Goes Wild For Kamala Harris Accidentally Calling Herself the President

Vice President Kamala Harris accidentally referred to herself as the president during a memorial service for the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX).

The likely Democratic nominee delivered the eulogy at a Houston area church for Lee, who died last month at the age of 74. During her speech, Harris praised the former lawmaker for being a “champion of women’s rights” and writing the bill that made Juneteenth a national holiday.

However, when Harris was lauding legislation Lee championed she accidentally called herself the president instead of the vice president, quickly offering a correction. The slip-up led to the audience breaking out in claps and cheers as Harris smiled.

A transcript of Harris’ remarks:

The congresswoman was a leader for Houston and she was a national leader. She was a national leader. She touched the lives of people all over our country. As a champion for women’s rights, she helped reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. As a fighter for LGBTQ rights, her support helped repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. As a lifelong advocate for our nation’s children, she founded the Congressional Children’s Caucus. And as a leader who believed deeply that America’s true and full history must be acknowledged and honored, it was Sheila Jackson Lee whose bill made Juneteenth a federal holiday.

Which, as a United States Senator, I was proud to co-sponsor. And then as president — as vice president, it was my honor — it was my honor, with the, with our president, Joe Biden, to stand beside Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee as our president signed her bill into law.
