WATCH: Lauren Boebert Fills-in as Host on Right-Wing OAN in Rare Move by Sitting Member of Congress
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) stepped behind the anchor desk on Monday night to guest host former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s primetime show on the pro-MAGA network One America News (OAN), marking a rare appearance by a sitting member of Congress in a hosting role.
Promoting the broadcast ahead of airtime, Boebert previewed a lineup centered on, among other items, what she called the “rampant problem of non-citizens voting in U.S. elections.”
Boebert’s guests included Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), election lawyer Cleta Mitchell, comedian Rob Schneider, Citizens Alliance CEO Cliff Maloney, and Christian singer/songwriter Sean Feucht.
Opening the program, Boebert underscored her relationship with the former Florida congressman, whom she called a “friend.”
Gaetz, who now hosts a nightly program on OAN, resigned from Congress in late 2024 after President Donald Trump nominated him to serve as attorney general. His nomination was later withdrawn.
The House Ethics Committee later released a long-awaited report alleging that Gaetz “regularly paid women for engaging in sexual activity with him,” including a “17-year-old girl” who was “under the influence of ecstasy” at the time.
The report also found that “nearly every woman” interviewed by investigators “could not remember the details of at least one or more of the events they attended with Representative Gaetz and attributed that to drug or alcohol consumption.”
Gaetz has denied wrongdoing.
