Multiple Tornadoes Tear Through Illinois, Dozens Injured

At least ten tornadoes struck northern Illinois on Sunday, killing at least one person, injuring dozens, and leaving piles of rubble in their wake.

The first tornado touched down at 11:00 in East Peoria, about 150 miles southwest of Chicago, and was followed by multiple twisters. The storms were moving at about 60 miles an hour, according to authorities, and were powerful enough to rip roofs off of buildings and level houses.

Up to 80,000 were left without power.

UPDATE: 66 Tornados reported, 5 killed as of 8:40pm Eastern

Severe weather got as far as Chicago, where the Bears-Ravens game was suspended due to torrential downpour.
