Watch Loretta Lynch Clarify Her Stance on Waterboarding in Under 10 Seconds
During today’s Senate confirmation hearing, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) asked Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch a question about waterboarding and torture and got as direct and uncomplicated answer as anyone could have expected.
“Waterboarding is torture, Senator,” Lynch said in her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee. “And thus illegal.”
In less than 10 seconds, Lynch clarified her legal understanding of an issue that has plagued the United States since September 11, 2001.
