Watch Wolf Blitzer Practically Beg Reince Priebus to Call Into CNN After Ouster: ‘Love to Hear From You’
This got a little awkward.
Less than an hour after Reince Priebus‘s ouster as White House Chief of Staff was made public, Wolf Blitzer all but begged the deposed Priebus to call in to CNN on Friday.
Blizter made his heartfelt 24-second plea––noticed by Mediaite columnist John Ziegler––during The Situation Room, as footage was being shown of Priebus getting off of Air Force One.
“If Reince Priebus is watching us right now, we’d love to have you call in,” Blizter said. “We’d love to hear from you. A lot of things have been said. You could clarify precisely the truth, the fiction, everything right now.
“So we’d would love to hear from you, Reince, if you want to call us in. You’ve known a lot of us for a long time. Love to get your side of the story. We have cameras over at the White House as well. If you want to go in front of the cameras, more than welcome to do so.”
There was nervous laughter from CNN panelists as The Situation Room host concluded his pitch to Preibus. But it was clear that everyone on the show was pulling for Blitzer.
“If there’s anyone he should be talking to, I think it’s you,” said CNN political editor Mark Preston.
Sadly for Blitzer, it appears that he’s going to strike out in his quest to land Priebus. Sean Hannity is slated to speak with the ousted Chief of Staff on his show Friday night. Maybe next time, Wolf.

UPDATE 6:33 p.m. ET — Or not! Wolf indeed landed his chat with Reince Priebus. He’s slated to appear on the show momentarily. Way to go, Wolf!
