Weekend Update’s Cranky 1860s Critic Jebidiah Atkinson Reviews Oscar Films

One of the breakout characters of this season’s Saturday Night Live has been Taran Killam‘s impossible-to-please 1860’s critic Jebidiah Atkinson, who is based on a real-life critic who panned Abraham Lincoln‘s Gettysburg address. On this week’s Weekend Update, Atkinson showed up to review this year’s crop of Academy Awards Best Picture nominees, and was characteristically, hilariously brutal. He also took a mean-spirited romp through the rest of cinematic history. Apocalypse Now? More like Apocalypse Wow, I Paid Three Bucks to See This?!?
