Woman Claims She Was Fired for Reporting Library Sex

What would you do if you caught two strangers having sex where you work? An assistant librarian at Estancia Public Library in New Mexico discovered two town employees “going at it” (as one local reporter put it) and fired shortly thereafter.
Jaime Kurz caught the couple in action just before the library opened on August 20th. She alerted town clerk Julie Carter, who then contacted Mayor Sylvia Chavez. A few weeks later, after Kurz wrote to the mayor to request time off to avoid a “hostile” work situation, both she and Carter lost their jobs.
Both women plan to file suit against the town for wrongful termination and could ultimately be protected as “whistleblowers.”
