Noem, who was seen as a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said in a radio interview that she is focused on her job and that with Trump in the race, “right now I don’t see a path for victory with anybody else."

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) released a five-minute ad on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for Smile Texas, a chain of dentist offices in the Lone Star State. In the ad, which was posted on Tuesday, the governor recalled a biking accident that knocked out her teeth, but she did not explain why she chose to get the subsequent dental work done in a place four states away beyond saying, “because they’re great.”

“I love that my bite is better, that my teeth are a better shape, that they feel better in my mouth and that I can be confident when I smile at people,” she declared.

It is not clear if Noem was paid to make the advertisement, in which case as The Daily Dot noted, the governor would have to disclose that fact in accordance with the platform’s rules.

Predictably, the post drew puzzled reactions on social media from across the political spectrum.
