Elon Musk Tells Far-Right German Party Rallygoers There’s Too Much ‘Guilt’ in Country Over ‘Sins’ of Grandparents

Elon Musk spoke to rallygoers for Germany’s far-right AfD party and urged the country’s citizens to take “pride” in their heritage and not to carry “guilt” over the “sins” of their ancestors.

Musk has spent weeks publicly supporting the party and as The Spectator noted, addressed them via video four weeks ahead of the country’s elections.

Video circulating on Musk’s social media platform X showed he urged German voters and AfD supporters to ignore the European Union, avoid multiculturalism, and be proud of their country.

Days after Musk was accused of throwing up a Sieg Heil salute, he said:

I think that is just very important is that people take pride in Germany, and being German. This is very important. It’s, you know, it’s okay to be proud to be German. This is a very important principle, and it’s good to be proud of German culture and values and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything. You know, there’s – I think we want to have unique cultures in the world. We want to have people that have – we don’t want everything to be the same everywhere where it’s just one big sort of soup. We want to have something where it’s you can go to different countries and you experience a different culture, and it is unique and special and good, and that the German government takes action to protect its citizens and make sure that it seeks the health and well-being of the German people.

Musk added that the Romans wrote they were impressed during their first encounters with Germanic tribes.

“These are very, very powerful warriors,” he said. “So, like, you know, I think there’s like really too much of a focus on past guilt, and we need to move beyond that. Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents or even their parents, their great-grandparents – maybe even. And we should be optimistic and excited about a future for Germany.”

The billionaire tech CEO said voters should choose “self-determination for Germany” and less influence “from Brussels.”
