Extortion! Deleted Posts! Unfair Trial! Reporters Bombard Trump In First Court Appearance After Stormy Daniels News
CNN anchor Jake Tapper was too disgusted to read which “descriptions” would be off limits during the bombshell Stormy Daniels – Trump testimony, despite Kasie Hunt’s cajoling him “Just read it!”
Tuesday morning saw a bombshell go off ahead of the resumption of Trump’s hush money-election interference trial, as news broke that Daniels herself would be taking the witness stand. That reporting was preceded by a Trump social media rant about a surprise witness that he quickly deleted.
Trump wrote:
I have just recently been told who the witness is today. This is unprecedented, no time for lawyers to prepare. No Judge has ever run a trial in such a biased and partisan way. He is CROOKED & HIGHLY CONFLICTED, even taking away my First Amendment Rights. Now he’s threatening me with JAIL, & THEY HAVE NO CASE – This according to virtually all Legal Scholars & Experts! Why isn’t the Fake News Media reporting his Conflict?
When court began, Judge Juan Merchan laid out which lines of questioning would be permitted regarding Daniels and former President Donald Trump — and which would not.
Trump strode into the courthouse on his way into the courtroom, stopping to deliver a three-minute rant attacking President Joe Biden and making many familiar false claims about Biden and the trial. But he was met with a barrage of questions, coming and going, that he blew off:
REPORTER 1: Why did you delete the Truth Social posts?
REPORTER 2: Mr. Trump, why did you delete the Truth Social post this morning?
REPORTER 3: Are you a victim of extortion?
DONALD TRUMP: The country is on fire and there are protests all over the country…
…but it hasn’t happened in this country. And it’s a shame. And the trial is a very unfair trial. It’s a very, very unfair trial. The good news is they have nothing. Thank you.
REPORTER 2: Why is that unfair?
REPORTER 1: Mr. president, you plan on testifying?
REPORTER 2: Why is the trial unfair?
