Trump Campaign Website Briefly Defaced by Hackers

The official Trump campaign website was targeted and briefly defaced by hackers earlier Tuesday night.

A message went on on the site, apparently from cryptocurrency scammers, featured a message reading in part, “The world has had enough of the fake news spreaded daily by president donald j. trump.”

Per the New York Times, it was first noticed by journalist Gabriel Lorenzo Greschler.

The Trump campaign confirmed the hack in a statement saying they’re “working with law enforcement authorities” on it and adding, “There was no exposure to sensitive data because none of it is actually stored on the site.”
