Trump Goes On Furious Posting Bender After Being Dumped Off Ballot For Insurrection

Former President Donald Trump posted furiously to social media in the wake of a state Supreme Court decision to dump him off the ballot for engaging in insurrection.

The news dropped like a bomb Tuesday evening when the Colorado Supreme Court announced its decision to ban Trump from the ballot on the grounds that he violated the 14th Amendment by engaging in insurrection on January 6. The court split on the question by a 4 to 3 vote.

After delivering a speech in Waterloo, Iowa, Trump began a blizzard of Truth Social posts related to the Colorado decision, dropping video clips and captioning them with what he considered to be choice quotes.

First, he quoted Fox News host Laura Ingraham saying, “Tonight, America is seeing the ultimate—in ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”

Trump quoted another Fox News clip, writing, “IT IS NOT GOOD FOR OUR COUNTRY, AT ALL…”

He pulled another Fox clip and quoted, “They don’t want the voters to decide this…there is obviously this deep fear of Donald Trump potentially winning the White House back…”

And another and another:

Gregg Jarrett: “This is ELECTION RIGGING…This is an effort, make no mistake, to deprive American voters of their right to make the decision as to who should be president. It is anti-democratic. It’s the equivalent of rigging the ballot box.”

Charlie Hurt: “Democrats in Colorado are so afraid of allowing American voters to vote and pick the next president they are willing to do extra-judicial things, in order to thwart the people’s choice from being on the ballot.

To them, preserving democracy requires destroying democracy.”

Above a lengthy Jesse Watters clip, Trump blurted “ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”

But perhaps most chillingly, Trump posted a quote that carried the distinctive air of a threat when selected by Trump:

Jonathan Turley: “This country is a powder keg and this court is just throwing matches at it…for people that say they are trying to protect democracy, this is hands down the most anti-democratic opinion I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

The Trump-dominated US Supreme Court will likely face the question sooner rather than later.
