Tucker Carlson Is So Desperate for Attention, He’s Promoting Notorious Hate Site VDare

Just when you think he can’t sink any lower, he plummets again.

Fresh off of a charm offensive on behalf of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is pivoting back to domestic politics to champion the cause of the noxiously racist website VDARE.

In a video posted on X, Carlson lamented the historic levels of illegal immigration and asserted that as an issue it goes under covered.

“People are just silent, like it’s not even happening. And again, you have to ask why? And the answer,  of course, is really simple because they’re afraid. They know they’ll be punished if they say anything about it. The story of Peter and Lydia Brimelow explains why they’re afraid,” declared Carlson.

Peter Brimelow wrote for the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and was a columnist for National Review until he was forced out in the late 1990s. He is the founder of VDARE — which is named after Virginia Dare, who is thought to be the first child born to English settlers in the modern-day United States — and has been one of the leading figures on the American alt-right ever since. Lydia Brimelow is his wife and the publisher of VDARE.

After describing Brimelow as a “legitimate, old school journalist” who “began to ask questions about our immigration scheme” and “was fired from his jobs and shunted off into what we call the fringes,” Carlson praised VDARE for “opposing the immigration system currently in place.”

For that, Carlson alleged, “powerful forces have tried to destroy” the Brimelows’ “lives.”

While Carlson describes Brimelow’s advocacy rather generously, the truth is that he has called for the overturning of Brown v. Board of Education, called the United States a “white nation,” and published notorious racists, including Jared Taylor and Sam Francis. VDARE itself states on its website that its three main principles are that: “America is real,” Demography is destiny,” and that “The racial and cultural identity of America is legitimate and defensible.”

At that point, Lydia Brimelow joined Carlson to tell her sob story. The host smiled approvingly while Brimelow bragged that VDARE doesn’t “get any government grants,” insisted that all of the support for it is “grassroots,” and proceeded to bemoan a lawsuit brought against her organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Playing along with the sanitized version of events presented by Brimelow, Carlson asked her if VDARE had ever encouraged “terrorism,” “insurrection,” or “killing people.”

“We’ve never even been accused of doing that, right?” replied Brimelow. “I mean, people use these scare mere words all the time — white nationalist, white supremacist, racist, xenophobic — whatever whatever the flavor of the day is. So, so we get accused of being those things all the time, which we would argue we are not. But violence is something we have never been associated with.”
