‘Where’s DOGE at When You Need Them?’ Charlamagne Calls Out Trump for Planning $90 Million Military Parade While ‘Economy Is in the Toilet’

Charlamagne tha God called out President Donald Trump on Tuesday for wanting to hold an expensive military parade amid economic uncertainty.

On Monday, it was reported that the Trump administration was having “early discussions” about a potential parade in the nation’s capital. Officials are aiming for June 14 — Trump’s 79th birthday and the Army’s 250th anniversary — to hold the parade. Early estimates place the budget around $92 million.

Considering the very real possibility of economic turmoil brought on by the president’s tariffs — and the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) mission of eliminating wasteful spending — Charlamagne found the whole ordeal ironic.

“All these federal jobs lost,” he said on The Breakfast Club, “the economy is in the toilet, people’s 401(k)s being slashed — nothing to celebrate, my guy. Nothing to celebrate.

“Isn’t that wasteful spending? Where’s DOGE at when you need them? DOGE can’t — well, I guess he does have presidential immunity. DOGE can’t intervene in a situation like this? That seems like wasteful spending to me… He needs to have a nice little light party at Mar-a-Lago for family and close friends. Don’t involve our military with that foolishness,” he continued.

At the time of writing, nothing was set in stone regarding the parade. According to The Associated Press, the White House issued a statement saying “no military parade has been scheduled.”
