A Hockey Fan Stabbed in Head With Screwdriver Refused Treatment Until Game Ended

The Stanley Cup playoffs come but once a year. And for one devoted hockey fan, even a serious wound wasn’t enough to take him away from the action.
According to The Guardian, a 43-year-old Pittsburgh man was found Wednesday night by police in the auto body shop that he reportedly owns after an altercation with a 25-year-old male. The body shop owner was bleeding from his scalp, apparently from being stabbed by the 25-year-old with a screwdriver.
The wound seemed to require immediate medical attention, according to paramedics on the scene. One problem: The Pittsburgh Penguins’ first round playoff game was still in progress.
The man refused to be treated until the game was over. Per The Guardian, he drove himself to the hospital after the game was over.
Fortunately for the passionate fan, the Penguins rewarded him for waiting. They won the game 3-1 to take a 1-0 series lead.
