A-Rod’s Farewell Game to be Televised Nationally
Alex Rodriguez‘s farewell is going national.
Fox announced plans on Tuesday to televise A-Rod’s major league baseball swan song. The 41-year-old is set to call it quits following Friday night’s game between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Rodriguez is set to be given his release by the Yankees following Friday night’s contest. He asked the Yankees for one final chance to play in front of his friends and family, which the team granted.
The Yankees still owe A-Rod an estimated $27 million. He will remain with the club in an advisory role until the end of 2017.
On the off chance that he has a Kobe Bryant-like finale, Rodriguez could make some history. The longtime Yankee is just four home runs short of 700, a mark only three others have ever reached.
