Amy Adams on Cancelled Today Show Interview: ‘I Expressed That I Was Uncomfortable’

One of the recently-leaked Sony emails reveals that The Today Show cancelled an interview with Amy Adams because she wouldn’t talk about the Sony email hacking. One of the emails in question revealed that Adams and Jennifer Lawrence got paid less than their male co-start on the movie American Hustle.

At last night’s L.A. screening for her new film Big Eyes, USA Today asked Adams about the cancellation, and she admitted she was “confused and definitely” with NBC for just pulling the interview entirely. The actress thought the interview would carry on, but was “surprised” when her refusal to discuss the hacked email was a deal-breaker.

She explained, “I expressed that I was uncomfortable. I said I would rather not add my voice to this conversation. But it was clear they were drawing a hard line. That this would be part of the conversation.”

And no, Adams didn’t comment on the salary gap when they tried to ask.
