Army Corps of Engineers Employees Make Rap Video Expressing Frustration With Sequester Cuts

 

As the federal budget cuts contained in the sequester take effect on Friday, a number of civilian defense contractors face the prospect of layoffs or furloughs. The pain of budget cuts is being felt especially hard, evidently, in the Army Corps of Engineers. Members of the corps took to YouTube recently to make their opposition to the sequester cuts known… in song.

The rap video “Furlough Friday” features members of the corps rapping about the prospect of having their Fridays off for the foreseeable future. According to a report in US News & World Reports, the video was made and sent out to Army Corps of Engineers members as a means of easing the tensions of employees wary about the coming furloughs.
