Baltimore PD Releases Surveillance Vid of Freddie Gray’s Arrest; Cops Suspended

Baltimore police commissioner Anthony Batts held a presser earlier this afternoon to address the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray in police custody. He said they don’t know how Gray died, but made it clear the officers involved in his arrest have already been suspended.

Batts showed some surveillance video from Gray’s arrest, which was released in addition to cell phone video of Gray screaming in pain as he’s being dragged into the police vehicle.

The commissioner confirmed that Gray died from a spinal cord injury. He insisted the police are not “hiding facts” and walked through the entire timeline of what happened from Gray’s arrest up to the discovery of his death. There was no video from the stops police made while they had Gray in the police vehicle and Batts again said they don’t know how Gray sustained those injuries.
