Bill Maher Thanks Jesus for Inspiring Indiana’s ‘Anti-Gay’ Law
The debate over Indiana’s “religious freedom” law didn’t really erupt until this weekend, so Bill Maher did not get a chance to dig into it on his HBO show Friday night. But in a little preview of what you can expect when he returns later this week, the comedian sent out this tweet suggesting Jesus might not be a big fan of discrimination:
Indiana doubling down on their antigay "religious freedom" law, just like Jesus planned. Your move, Alabama.

While Indiana lawmakers are by no means backing away from the controversial law, the are supposedly adding a provision that is meant to prevent active discrimination against LGBT customers of business that want do not want to have them as patrons.

“What we had hoped for with the bill was a message of inclusion — inclusion of all religious beliefs,” Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma (R) said on Monday. “What instead has come out is a message of exclusion, and that was not the intent, and hopefully not the effect. But to the extent it is, we’re intent on righting that.”
