BREAKING: 7.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Afghanistan; Death Toll Continues to Rise (UPDATED)
Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India have been affected by a deadly 7.5-magnitude earthquake early Monday morning. The epicenter of the quake was the Afghan province of Badakhshan, and by various reports, the death toll continues to rise above 70 confirmed.
The U.S. Geological Survey first reported the earthquake as a 7.7, though has reassessed its strength to a 7.5. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took to Twitter to communicate the assistance process:

We will continue to offer updates as they become available. The Associated Press reports that the death toll is currently at 79.

UPDATE — 9:22 a.m. ET: The Associated Press has now reported via Twitter 105 confirmed deaths from Monday’s earthquake.
