DEVELOPING: Police Provide Updates on Lawyer Who Shot and Injured 9 People in Houston

This morning reports out of Houston, Texas indicate that as many as seven people are injured following a shooting in the southwest part of the city.

ABC is reporting that a “man with a revolver” began firing around 6:30 a.m. local time outside of a supermarket strip. First responders are on the scene, and no information is yet confirmed about the suspect(s) involved.
This situation is developing and we will update with more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE 8:35 a.m. EST: ABC13 in Houston is reporting that the shooting suspect had been taken down by Houston PD after the active shooter situation there this morning. According to HPD, one of the responding officers managed to shoot the suspect, though his condition is not currently known.

A vehicle of interest has been found near the scene and is being investigated by HPD bomb squad.
UPDATE: 9:58 a.m. EST: The Associated Press moments ago reported that the shooter is dead.

UPDATE: 10:34 a.m. EST: The AP reports that there were nine injured in Monday’s shooting, and that one of the shooting victims is currently in critical condition. The gunman was a lawyer, identifying “an issue” with his law firm:
