Recently, former President George W. Bush unveiled a series of paintings of world leaders from his period in the White House. Those paintings may not, however, have been based on Bush’s memory. Art critics have indicated that it appears those paintings were based on the results of a Google image search of the world leaders in question.
“If he had one, it would mean Bush’s studio assistant is very, very lazy,” wrote the art critic Greg Allen in his blog.
Allen noted that, in spite of the fact that Bush had access to hundreds of images of world leaders via his presidential library. “Instead, it seems, he Googled the world leaders he made such impactful relationships with himself, and took the first straight-on headshot he saw,” Allen wrote.
