Caitlyn Jenner Watched Transparent with Kim Kardashian to Help Her Better Understand Transition
Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition has not just been a milestone in LGBT equality — it’s also had a very humanizing effect on her family. It’s not an easy road when a beloved family member transitions, and the normally vapid Kardashians have been handling themselves in public with grace and teaching their huge audience about acceptance, tolerance, and love. It might even remind you of a certain show that was a massive hit on Amazon: Transparent.
The show’s creator, Jill Soloway, says that Jenner watched the show about a father transitioning to life as a woman with her step-daughter Kim Kardashian during her own transition. Soloway told US Weekly at the United Friends of the Children event in Beverly Hills:
“I actually had great conversations with Caitlyn and with Kim, awesome little moments where Kim told me that the family watched the show together. Caitlyn told me that she loved it,” Soloway said.
That’s the sweetest thing ever, isn’t it? And Kim is easily one of Caitlyn’s biggest supporters, as evidenced on the About Bruce special that aired on E! before the Vanity Fair cover was revealed. Maybe we’re sick to death of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but at least they’re all revealing themselves as human beings with hearts and brains now.
