Canceled: Newtown Choir’s Grammy ‘Call Me Maybe’ Performance Called Off
Carly Rae Jepsen was out in full force at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, but her hit song did not appear as scheduled in the E! channel’s pre-show program. As we reported last week, the Newtown Children’s Choir was set to perform “Call Me Maybe” in a live-to-tape appearance from Newtown, Connecticut, but the performance was called off at the last minute.
The Hartford Courant reported Sunday that the performance was canceled not for its questionable taste, but rather due to the massive winter storm that hit the northeast this weekend. “Unfortunately the snowstorm prevented the Newtown Children’s Choir from being able to perform during our pre-Grammy coverage,” a spokesperson for E! said.
