Catherine Zeta-Jones Reclaims Narrative From Paparazzi by Posting Her Own Bikini Photos
When nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence were revealed after a massive celebrity email hack, she broke the mold cast by Vanessa Williams and others and refused to apologize. That sparked a nation-wide conversation on how consent works in an increasingly digital and image-based world. Now, Catherine Zeta-Jones has added to the debate in her own way by posting photos in a bikini to reclaim her ownership of the right to do it.
The actress shared this to Instagram yesterday:
The message sent by her posting the photos taken by Michael Douglas is clear: Zeta-Jones is in charge of her body, who sees her body, and when they see it.
She’s been trending all day on Facebook, so maybe the message was well-received!
