Christine Ford Classmate Retreats From Deleted Facebook Post: ‘No Idea’ if Kavanaugh Incident Happened

A classmate of Christine Blasey Ford‘s is retreating from a Facebook post she wrote and deleted on Wednesday, in which she claimed that the alleged incident involving ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh “did happen.

Speaking on Thursday with NPR, Ford Classmate Cristina King Miranda walked back the claims from her deleted post.

“That it happened or not, I have no idea,” Miranda said. “I can’t say that it did or didn’t.”

In the deleted Facebook post, Miranda wrote, “I did not know [Ford[ personally but I remember her. This incident did happen. Many of us heard a buzz about it indirectly with few specific details. However Christine’s vivid recollection should be more than enough for us to truly, deeply know that the accusation is true.”

Miranda cited the host of media inquiries she received following her post during her backtrack on Thursday.

“In my post, I was empowered and I was sure it probably did [happen],” Miranda said. “I had no idea that I would now have to go to the specifics and defend it before 50 cable channels and have my face spread all over MSNBC news and Twitter.”
