CNBC’s Jim Cramer Apologizes After Polish Embassy Slams Him for ‘Insensitive’ WWII Remark

The Polish Embassy in the U.S. slammed CNBC’s Jim Cramer this afternoon for an “insensitive” comment he made earlier this month.

As Cramer talked about retailers on May 11th’s Mad Money, he said the following:

“Macy’s is like the Polish Army in World War II––they tried to field cavalry against German tanks and it did not end well.”

The embassy got wind of this and posted a lengthy statement to Twitter scolding him for his “unnecessary, inaccurate, and insensitive” statement:

“This is pure Nazi and Communist propaganda,” they write, “that continues to weave its way into Western media reports to this very day.”

And minutes later, Cramer did apologize:
