CNN Notes That Recent Bomb Attacks Are a ‘Win’ For Trump
Everything is relative. Remember that.
Okay, well, that may be true but it is still a little shocking to see “bombings” in a “wins” column. While reviewing the presidential candidates’ weeks, CNN broke events into “wins” and “losses,” ranking the terrorist threats in New Jersey and New York as a win for Donald Trump because they fit his campaign narrative. Careful viewers will see that it says, “Bombings … fit campaign narrative,” but at first glance, it’s easy to believe “bombings” is just listed under “wins.”

It makes sense. Trump’s campaign wins when terrorist threats arise because he is pushing himself as a tough, safety-focused candidate. A voter in fear is likely to turn to the strongest-seeming candidate. By insisting that he called the first explosion a bomb before anyone else did, he becomes stronger-looking.
So, with everything being relative, yeah, that’s a “win.” Does that make it less strange to see? Nope.
Hillary Clinton‘s weekly review got the same “bombings … fit campaign narrative” treatment, too.
