De Blasio Wants the Gov’t to Reimburse Up to $35 Million for Trump Tower Security Costs

President-elect Donald Trump is staying at Trump Tower during the pre-inauguration transition period, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wants the federal government to reimburse the city for the security costs.

De Blasio said at a press conference today, “We will be asking for up to $35 million in reimbursement for the period November 8 to January 20.”

He sent a letter to President Obama directly making the request.

According to CNNMoney, the protection for Trump and his family is costing the city over $1 million a day.
