‘Death to Your Oppression’: Details Released from Alleged NYC Bomber’s Journal
A House Homeland Security Committee hearing today revealed some details from the journal of Ahmad Khan Rahami, who has been arrested and charged in connection with bombs that went off in New Jersey and New York last weekend.
At the hearing today, committee chair Michael McCaul went through a copy of the journal they were provided and said, “He talks about the sounds of bombs will be heard in the streets.”
In the journal, Rahami allegedly praised Osama Bin Laden, made references to Anwar al-Awlaki, ISIS, and Fort Hood, talked about bombs, and declared, “Gunshots to your police, death to your oppression.”
A handwritten note left near one of the unexploded bombs authorities discovered contained a reference to the Boston bombers.
