A police chase down a California freeway yesterday ended after a sheriff’s deputy shot at the fleeing suspect from a police helicopter.
Authorities had initially pulled the man over on suspicion of home invasion, but he took off in his SUV and law enforcement chased after him.
The chase continued down the freeway, and according to BuzzFeed News, it’s unclear whether the man was shot at before or after he got out of his SUV and continued on foot.
The suspect ended up dead at the scene.
Shooting suspects from a helicopter generally doesn’t happen, but authorities determined it the best course of action in this case.
