Following his election as the new chair of the Democratic National Committee, former Labor Secretary Tom Perez made the rounds on Sunday shows this morning to discuss his win and what it means for the party.

Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Perez was asked by host George Stephanopoulos to give his thoughts on President Donald Trump’s snarky tweet of congratulations to him after he pulled out the victory.

“You know, Congressman [Keith] Ellison and I are united,” Perez said. “And our Democratic unity is Donald Trump’s worst nightmare.”

Perez then went on to highlight there was a special election in the Delaware state senate that went overwhelmingly for the Democratic candidate. He pointed to this as proof that the DNC and grass roots are working together to get Democrats elected now.
