Donald Trump Literally Turns NBA Star’s Murdered Cousin Into Campaign Slogan
On Friday, Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade tweeted the tragic news that his cousin, 32-year-old Nykea Aldridge, a mother of four, was murdered while pushing one of her kids in a stroller, with bullets apparently meant for someone else. Upon hearing the news Saturday morning, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reacted the way any human being with fists made from cuts of the finest cured and cooked pork would react:
Dwyane Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 27, 2016
The tweet has drawn predictably widespread outrage, but not among the group the remark was really aimed at. Trump’s ostensible “black outreach” has always been, in reality, a stage whisper to white voters who either need Trump to at least look like he’s reaching out, or who understand that Trump’s only talking to “the good ones” who are already part of the one percent who support him.
