Ed Schultz Trial Exposed Some Awkward Emails

edEarlier we reported on Ed Schultz‘ triumph over a lawsuit, but as the trial got started, some less-than-pleasant relevant emails emerged.

The emails were obtained and reported on a few weeks ago by The Daily Caller––which devoted a lot of coverage to the Schultz trial––and contained a few awkward details here and there.

For example, one of those emails was from Michael Queen (the man who sued Schultz) to none other than Fox News, saying, “Some network is sure to sign this former All American quarterback either as a commentator or show host, why not FOX?”

And before you start wondering why, once upon a time Schultz used to be more conservative.

Other emails were from Schultz himself, and a little more personal. In one of them, from 2008, Schultz reportedly took a shot at his future MSNBC colleague Chris Matthews, saying, “Do you think it’s a good idea if I spit all over myself like Chris Mathews [sic] during the pilot ?… Does the guy have some condition we don’t know about ?”

And that’s not all, because Schultz also reportedly went off on John McCain for getting him kicked off a CNN appearance, and said of Oprah Winfrey, “I am not interested in Oprah. She is not a serious player for a political show despite her association with Obama.”
