Emmy Ratings Plummet 10 Percent to All-Time Low

Monday night’s broadcast of the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards was a ratings dud.
According to NBC (via Entertainment Weekly), the telecast drew a 7.4 rating. That number is down 10 percent from last year’s 8.2 — which tied with 2016 for what had previously been the least-watched Emmys in history.
The show, hosted by Saturday Night Live stars Michael Che and Colin Jost, appeared to get very little traction on social media. Arguably the lone viral moment came when award-winner Glenn Weiss proposed marriage to his girlfriend Jan Svendson during his acceptance speech.
The full numbers will be out later on Tuesday.
