Empire State Building Shooter May Have Been Fired From Job Yesterday, NBC Reports
NBC is reporting that the gunman who opened fired at the Empire State Building this morning was fired from his job yesterday. NBC had previously reported that the man was “a disgruntled employee.”
“A law-enforcement official said the shooting did not appear to be terror-related, and the gunman may have been a disgruntled employee who was fired Thursday from his job inside the building,” their report said.

UPDATE II: In Mayor Bloomberg’s press conference this morning, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly confirmed that the gunman was “a disgruntled former employee” — but he lost his job about a year ago, not yesterday, as NBC reported earlier.
