Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Sit For Rare Interview Tonight on CNN With His Company in Crisis

After days of silence, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has posted a statement — defending his company against an onslaught of criticism over the Cambridge Analytica data breach. And now, he’s even taking the rare step of going on television.

According to CNN, the social media titan is going to sit for an interview on Wednesday night with Laurie Segall — the network’s senior technology correspondent. The conversation is slated to take place during the 9 PM hour of Anderson Cooper: 360.

In the statement posted to Facebook earlier, Zuckerberg wrote that the revelations about Cambridge Analytica constituted “a breach of trust between Facebook and the people who share their data with us and expect us to protect it.”

“We have a responsibility to protect your data, and if we can’t then we don’t deserve to serve you,” Zuckerberg wrote. “I’ve been working to understand exactly what happened and how to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Tonight, the CEO will try to answer for what can only be described as a catastrophic security failure before the nation.
