Addressing reporters Thursday morning, House Speaker Paul Ryan said he was confident that Donald Trump was ready to work with the party and win in the general election, although he snapped at one reporter that he wasn’t going to comment on every careless, indiscreet tweet to come from Trump’s official account.
Despite the recent kerfuffle over Trump tweeting out an anti-Semitic image, Ryan said the presumptive GOP nominee had had a very productive and “especially helpful” meeting with the party members and that he was confident the campaign was on track moving into the convention.
But when ABC’s Ben Siegel asked Ryan to comment Trump’s decision to stand by the Star of David tweet, Ryan snapped, “I’m not gonna comment on this. Look I’m not you think I’m gonna comment on every tweet?”
“I’m just gonna get into that tweet talk,” he concluded.
