There are now two Federal agencies looking into possible criminal activity at Fox News, and former staffers are reportedly being brought in for questioning.
According to a report by Brian Stelter of CNN, the U.S. Postal Service and the Justice Department have been conducting interviews for weeks, with former Fox News staffers among those being grilled.
Stelter points out in his report that mail and wire fraud are crimes investigated by the USPS. This would seem to back up previous reporting by Gabriel Sherman of New York magazine, who previously said that the network was being looked at in relation to those possible crimes.
In the CNN report, Stelter quotes a source who told him that the Feds were looking into the various sexual harassment settlements made in cases brought against former Fox News boss Roger Ailes. The Justice Department and the USPS are, per the source, examining, “how the shareholder money was spent; who knew; and who should have known.”
