Fox & Friends Does a Number on ‘Disloyal’ Michael Cohen: ‘Why is He Taping’ Trump ‘For Years?!’
The word “rat” was not used to describe Michael Cohen Friday on Fox & Friends. But based on the tenor of the show’s conversation about President Donald Trump‘s lawyer, Cohen might as well have been tagged with that label.
Early in the show’s second hour, hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade broke down Cohen’s interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America. And in their analysis, the three appeared to be more outraged at Cohen for being disloyal than the president for the alleged crimes in which Cohen implicated him.
“What did this guy tape?” Kilmeade said. “Because…he’s got the [Trump] inauguration committee in trouble, by tapes that were ceased from his office during these raids. So you don’t know what is on tape in between. That’s why, as Ed Rollins writes today, the president needs an A team of lawyers to match the A team he’s facing.”
“There’s so many things that are going through all of our minds, though, when we see that interview,” Earhardt added. “Because that was an attorney that he hired, the president hired, that he was supposed to be able to talk to — you’re supposed to able to talk to your attorney about anything, and it’s not supposed to get out into the public. And he was recording the conversations. Now he’s being disloyal to his client, and giving these interviews, and talking about what he was confidentially discussing with his client.”
“Why is he taping everything?!” Kilmeade said. “If he can take a bullet for him one minute, why is he taping him for years?!”
