Gov. Cuomo: ‘I Don’t Believe That Trump Won, I Believe That We Lost’

Andrew-Cuomo-e1469456509327New York Governor Andrew Cuomo thinks that the election results were more about a rejection of Democrats than an embrace of Donald Trump.

Cuomo attended a fundraiser on his birthday last night, and according to reports, he said, “I don’t believe that Trump won. I believe that we lost that election.”

He said that the big election loss for the Democrats should bring with it a lesson that they need to learn for future elections:

“I think what it said to the Democrats is there is a middle class that we have not been attentive to and it’s a middle class that’s been suffering for a long time.”

That being said, he did express concerns about the fear and hatred “now resonating all across this country.” Cuomo cited recent “racial incidents” in his state, including the attack this week on a Muslim MTA worker.

Last December, Cuomo accused Trump of “fanning the flames of hate” with his rhetoric about Muslims.
