‘I Hope They’re All Dead’: Former Indiana Coach Bobby Knight Rails Against Ex-Bosses

There is, evidently, no love lost between former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and his former bosses at the school.

Friday on The Dan Patrick Show, host Dan Patrick expressed his wish that Knight would someday return to Indiana to be honored by the fans.

That idea was a total non-starter.

“I have absolutely no respect whatsoever for those people,” Knight said of the Indiana hierarchy. “With that in mind, I have no interest in ever going back to that university.”

Patrick noted that many of the people who were in charge at the school in 2000 when he was dismissed — including school president Myles Brand — are no longer there.

“I hope they’re all dead,” Knight said.

The host, clearly taken aback, responded, “Well, I know some of them are,” again presumably referring to Brand, who died in 2009.

To which Knight replied: “Well, I hope the rest of ’em go.”

Patrick, from there, changed the subject.
