Irish Parliament Will Hear Arguments on Petition to Ban Trump
Donald Trump‘s rhetoric has drawn ire from the international community, with the United Kingdom already in the middle of considering whether to ban him for his inflammatory proposals about Muslims.
Well apparently, there’s another nation that might try to lock out the mogul forever.
A report from The Journal says that senators and members of the Irish Parliament are also going to review two petitions calling to ban the GOP frontrunner from entering the country. The Joint Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions, which addresses such petitions from the public, is scheduled to discuss them both in a future session in the coming weeks.
It is unlikely that the anti-Trump petitions will make a lot of progress beyond the committee, for according to the report, Ireland’s government observes standing orders that disqualify petitions for consideration if they “contains the name or names of individuals”. The petitions carry the names of “Ban Donald Trump from Ireland” and “Ban Donald Trump From Entering Ireland,” and might be inadmissible under these terms.
