Israeli Barber Makes ‘Magic’ Yarmulkes to Help Avoid Anti-Semitic Attacks
Sometimes Jews in Israel may get unwanted attention from anti-Semites because of the yarmulkes (a.k.a. kippahs) they wear on their heads. One Israeli barber is helping them out by creating “magic” yarmulkes out of human hair.
This barber, Shalom Koresh explained to the AP that he’s concerned about rising anti-Semitism in Europe and wants to create these invisible yarmulkes for Jews to be able to walk around in public without fear of attack.
“This skullcap is washable,” he said, “you can brush it, you can dye it. It was created so people could feel comfortable going to places where they are afraid to go, or places where they can’t wear it, and feel secure.”
The “Magic Kippa” is available online. There are ones made of synthetic hair and ones made of real hair, and you can get them in a variety of different colors.
